BB&T - 'Give Back and Spread the Light'

landscaped houseOn September 12, 2009 the Maple & Magnolia houses were the recipients of some wonderful caring and work by the Conway area branches of BB&T.  Under the leadership of Howard Henry – City Executive for Conway and approximately 20 volunteers, the houses received some much needed landscaping work as well as a beautiful new fence.  Mr. Henry and his team had contacted the agency as a way to “Give Back” to their community.  Upon several discussions and weeks of planning, Maple and Magnolia received several new bedding plants, small shrubs, new trees and the fence that will allow for security and safety.

According to Mr. Henry, the project is known as the Lighthouse Project which allows for all of the different BB&T area branches to choose a project that allows them to “Give Back and Spread Light” to their area communities.  Mr. Henry had worked in the past with Horry County Disabilities & Special Needs through the Grand Strand Leadership Group and the Annual Bike-A-Thon.  His devotion to his community and faith and leadership with the project of volunteers is greatly appreciated.  It has made a wonderful difference in the lives of the consumers who live in the homes as well as helping the staff to feel more secure and safe when working late at night.

Thank you BB&T for your generosity, love and support for persons who live in your community.
